Shayne morrissey

owner / director of operations

A native of St. John's, NL, Canada, Shayne played junior hockey in Canada before committing to play NCAA college hockey with Neumann University. Shayne was named ECAC West Rookie of the Year in 2014 after his first season in college. After graduating in 2017, he sits 5th all time in career points scored with 108 points in 4 years. Shayne turned pro in 2017, splitting time between the SPHL and ECHL, where he broke the Evansville Thunderbolts record for most goals scored in a single season. He also brings a wealth of coaching experience, coaching for 10 years with Xtreme Hockey programs in Canada, along with coaching Philadelphia Little Flyers and Delco Phantoms teams while attending college in Aston, PA. Shayne is currently a coach and director for the Philadelphia Little Flyers youth program along with being assistant coach for Neumann University Men's NCAA Ice Hockey team. Shayne helped coach the Little Flyers 14U Girls Team to a USA Hockey National Championship in 2021.

A native of Eustis, FL, Grace played for the Boston Shamrocks in the JWHL prior to committing to play NCAA hockey with Neumann University where she captained the team during her Junior and Senior Year. After graduating in 2017, Grace was drafted to the Toronto Fury in the CWHL, but elected to sign her first pro contract with the Connecticut Whale in the NWHL. In just her second season with the Whale she was named an NWHL All Star. Along with playing in the All Star Game, she participated in the fastest skater in the skills competition.Grace later signed with the Buffalo Beauts, and played a combined 5 years of professional hockey (NWHL & PHF). Grace is a great role model for young girls involved in hockey and advocate for the growth of women's hockey worldwide. As head coach Grace led the Philadelphia Little Flyers Girls 14U team to the first USA Hockey National Championship in organization history. Grace followed that up by coaching the 16U Philadelphia Little Flyers girls to a National Championship in 2025. This marks her 2nd national championship as a Head Coach in just 4 years. Grace was just named 2025 Atlantic District Girls coach of the year for the 2024-2025 Season.

MATT KING

Matthew is from Lindsay, Canada, and grew up playing recreational house league hockey before making the jump into 2 years of Prep School. Thereafter he played 4 years of Junior ‘A’ hockey in the OJHL, and NOJHL for the Lindsay Muskies, Aurora Tigers, and Kirkland Lake Gold Miners. He is entering his Junior year with the Neumann University NCAA team. Prior to coaching in 1494, Matthew has volunteered with numerous teams, logging in nearly 500 hours of community service, with the Lindsay Minor Hockey, and Kirkland Lake Devils programs.

Jeremy Snyder

Jeremy Snyder is from Lansdale, PA where he grew up playing for the Hatfield Ice Dogs, Valley Forge Minutemen, and North Penn High school. Jeremy was named to the 16U AYHL all star game. He then went on to play hockey for Towson University from 2014‑2018, earning Defensive Player of the Year in 2016 & 2017 and MVP in 2017 & 2018. Jeremy was also named to the First Team all ECHA in both 2017 and 2018. He is currently in the top 25 in scoring for defenseman in ACHA history. Jeremy graduated with a major in Project Management and Business Analysis. From 2018-2020, he worked with Tomorrow’s Ice 13U and 14U Select teams, and served as a skills instructor for the Junior Blue Hens. Jeremy then transitioned to coaching at the Philadelphia Little Flyers from 2020-2024 working at the 14U and 15U age groups. He was the head coach for the 2006 team from 2020-2022, and was the Head Coach for the 2008 team from 2022-2024. Jeremy first joined the 1494 in 2025, where he coached the 2014 team. Since 2024, Jeremy has been working as an assistant coach and skills coach for Tomorrow’s Ice.

SARAH HUGHSON

Sarah (a former NWHL Teammate of Coach Grace) is not only amazing on the ice, but has been a great addition to our staff off the ice. Her professional skills with video and images has allowed her to add a new dimension to our program through social media.

RALFIE

Ralfie joined the 1494 Family in 2021 after being scouted at a local farm for his speed, agility, and unmatched enthusiasm for hockey pucks. Known for his pre-game naps and being known as the rink mascot, Ralfie quickly became a fan favorite and locker room legend.

When he's not retrieving stray pucks or sneaking into the pub to steal a floor fry, Ralfie takes his role as emotional support athlete very seriously. His hobbies include sliding across freshly Zamboni’d ice, photobombing interviews, and leading the team in post-win zoomies.

JAN MAMRILLA

A native of Stara Lubovna, Slovakia, fluent in English, Slovak, Czech, and Polish, Ján has a unique ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. Growing up playing youth hockey in New Jersey and junior hockey for the Philadelphia Little Flyers, Ján discovered his passion for the sport at an early age. He pursued his passion further by playing college hockey at Neumann University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management. Since college, Ján has actively participated in the hockey community, coaching in multiple organizations and camps—these include the Philadelphia Little Flyers, Goalie Doctor, Mercer Chiefs, and Pro Ambitions Hockey.

DEXTON MOZELL

From Edmonton, Alberta Dexton played his youth hockey in Alberta before joining Okanagan hockey academy all through high school. After graduating Dexton joined the Drayton Valley Thunder of the AJHL for 3 full seasons. During his time in the AJHL Dexton earned the league's Community Ambassador Award consecutively for two years. His commitment to community outreach and youth hockey development reflects his passion beyond the rink. Dexton is currently playing as a Captain for Neumann University NCAA Team.

EMMA BESA

Emma Besa, an upcoming graduate of King's College with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science. Emma has spent the last 4 years continuing her athletic career at the NCAA level on the D3 King's College Women's Ice Hockey team competing in the UCHC and the MAC divisions as well as the D3 King's College Women's Lacrosse team competing in the MAC division. Emma's hockey career started right here at Iceworks debuting as a Delco Dragon, at the age of 6, and continuing through as a Delco Phantom playing on both coed and girls teams and then ending her youth hockey career as a Philadelphia Little Flyer.

CHARLOTTE LABRE

Charlotte is from Bel Air, Maryland. Laced up the skates at age four. Played in the CBHL until 16u when she joined the Philadelphia Little Flyers. During the 2020-2021 season her team went to nationals and placed second in the country. Stayed with Little Flyers until youth hockey was over and is currently a captain in her senior year of NCAA hockey at Neumann University. Before coaching in 1494, Charlotte coached a variety of summer hockey player development camps in her home town. Charlotte is passionate about both individual and team success.

CYRIL MORRISSEY

Currently residing in Newfoundland, Canada, Cyril will travel to Aston for select events to add his 38 years of coaching experience to the list of coaches to our program. An advanced level coach with Hockey Canada, Cyril has coached all levels from Mite to Midget AAA. During which he has won the Hockey Newfoundland Labrador Provincial Championship a total of 7 times in 13 years. He was also heavily involved in the Team Newfoundland High Performance Program for 6 years, along with coaching the Women's Team Newfoundland during the Canada Games in 2011. Cyril is currently a technical director for the St. John's Caps Minor Hockey organization

JOHN DENNIS

Coach John grew up in Wilmington Delaware. John began playing youth ice hockey for various teams in the tri-state area when he was 5 years old. Coach John played High School hockey for St.Marks in Wilmington DE. He began coaching squirt hockey for the Delaware Ducks Program and has been coaching for the Delco Phantoms, the 1494 Hockey Club, and the Philadelphia Little Flyers Program.

KAILA BOOTH

Kaila grew up playing locally for the Little Flyers, where she developed her skills, love for the game, and competitive mindset. She later committed to NCAA hockey at Neumann University, where outside of playing she had the opportunity to work with a wide range of athletes, helping them grow not just as players but as people. Her goal as a coach is to help young players build confidence, improve their hockey IQ, and bring energy to the ice every time they skate.

MOLLIE MAMRILLA

A native of Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, Mollie developed her passion for hockey playing with the Valley Forge Colonials, the Quakers, and at Conestoga High School. She then went on to play four seasons of NCAA hockey at Neumann University, where she was named to the All-Academic Team every year. Mollie graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Human Resources.

Mollie brings both her love for the sport and her commitment to personal development into her role as a coach. She is dedicated to the growth of girls’ ice hockey, focusing on building skills, confidence, and character.

TYSON ROHRER

Tyson Rohrer is from Oregon, Wisconsin, and has a strong background in both junior and NCAA hockey. After playing 3 years of junior hockey for the Utica Comets, Tyson is now a senior at Neumann University, where he competes as a member of the Division 3 NCAA hockey team. His journey through hockey has fueled his passion for helping younger players develop their skills and achieve their full potential on the ice. With a commitment to bringing a high level of knowledge and experience to his coaching, Tyson has a genuine dedication to player development. He is deeply invested in helping players not only excel on the ice but grow as athletes and individuals. Tyson also understands what it takes to succeed at every level of hockey and strives to instill that mindset in every player he coaches.

TAYLOR SWARTER

A native of PA, Taylor played Junior Hockey for the Philadelphia Little Flyers before committing to play NCAA Hockey & Lacrosse for Castleton State College. After graduating from college, Taylor is now the Athletic Director, and Head Women's Hockey Coach for Upland Country Day School.

MIKE DAVIS

From Newark, DE Mike played his youth hockey locally for the Delaware Ducks organization before graduating to playing 4 years of Junior Hockey for the Philadelphia Little Flyers (1 Season) and Amarillo Bulls (3 Seasons). Mike played 4 years of NCAA Hockey for Neumann University (2 Years) & and Stevenson University (2 Years) where he amassed a total of 96 points in 105 games. Mike turned pro in 2018, splitting time with the Birmingham Bulls (SPHL) Norfolk Admirals (ECHL). Mike and Coach Shayne were teammates and linemates in both college and pro hockey.

HAYDEN PIMM

Hayden is a native from Kamloops , British Columbia and grew up playing and being around hockey his whole life. He moved to Ottawa playing youth hockey there for 7 years before moving to a prep school where he would develop through the u16 and u19 hockey programs at the school. After that he played 3 years of Canadian Junior A hockey, one being in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League ( MJHL) and the other being the SJHL ( Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League) . He is now entering his Freshman year at Neumann University with the NCAA Mens Hockey Team . Prior to Neumann Hayden has worked with many hockey teams along with running high performance Hockey camps at the Prep School he went to where he resides and works in the summer. He is a new member to 1494's and is extremely excited to grow and work with the 1494 family .

TONY ANDREWS

A native of St. Louis, Tony played junior hockey for the Philadelphia Little Flyers before committing to play NCAA hockey for Neumann University. While playing college hockey, Tony has been working for 1494 for 3 years and has taken over a bigger role as head coach for our spring teams in 2025. Tony enjoys working with all players and helping them grow and develop.

KYRA FILIGHERA

A Syracuse NY native, Kyra played AAA for the Syracuse Nationals. She played 4 years of NCAA hockey for Neumann University. While playing she began coaching for Ed Snider Youth Hockey and Education Foundation and continued after her collegiate career ended. Achieving UCHC All- Academic 3 years in a row, and making the presidents list her junior and senior, Kyra graduated with her degree in Elementary and Special Education. While coaching for Snider, and being a member of their academics team, she is also a Volunteer Assistant for Neumann University
